Privacy Policy
Transend ("we", "our", "us") operates the transend.email service. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and your rights over it.
1. Data we collect
Account data
- Your email address, used to create and identify your account
- Your name, if provided during signup or billing
- A hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text)
Sending data
- The metadata of emails you send — recipient address, subject, timestamps, delivery status, and event history (delivered, bounced, opened, complained)
- The HTML and plain-text body of emails, retained for 30 days to power the log viewer
- Your verified sending domains and their DNS verification status
Usage and technical data
- API request logs — endpoint, timestamp, response code, IP address
- Dashboard session data — pages visited, features used, browser and OS type
- Error reports and diagnostic data when something goes wrong
Billing data
Payment is processed by Stripe or Paystack. We receive a payment reference and subscription status, but we do not store full card numbers or bank account details.
2. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the Transend service
- To deliver transactional emails you have requested (account notices, invoices, alerts)
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and security threats
- To improve reliability, performance, and new features
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Third-party services
We share data with third parties only as necessary to operate the service:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS SES) — email delivery infrastructure. Message content passes through AWS in transit.
- Stripe / Paystack — payment processing. Subject to their own privacy policies.
- Cloudflare — DNS, DDoS protection, and CDN. Sees request IP addresses and headers.
4. Data retention
- Email body content: 30 days
- Email metadata and event logs: 90 days
- Account and billing data: retained for the life of the account plus 5 years
- API request logs: 30 days rolling
When you delete your account, we delete your sending data within 30 days and your account data within 90 days, unless we are required by law to retain it longer.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email hi@transend.email from the address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days.
If you are located in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
6. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in to the dashboard. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will email you at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
