Acceptable Use Policy

Summary: Transend is a transactional email platform. It is strictly for emails that recipients expect to receive as a direct result of their own actions — account creation, purchases, password resets, and so on. It is not a marketing or bulk outreach platform.

1. Permitted uses

You may use Transend to send the following categories of email:

  • One-time passwords (OTPs) and authentication codes
  • Password reset and account recovery emails
  • Order confirmations, receipts, and invoices
  • Shipping and delivery notifications
  • Account alerts, security notices, and billing notifications
  • Product notifications triggered by a user's own action within your application
  • Subscription renewal reminders sent to existing paying customers
  • Onboarding sequences initiated when a user signs up for your product

In all permitted cases, the recipient has a direct, pre-existing relationship with your product and reasonably expects to receive the email.

2. Prohibited uses

The following uses are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account suspension:

Cold outreach and unsolicited email

  • Sending email to recipients who have not opted in to receive messages from you
  • Cold sales emails, prospecting, or outreach to contacts you did not acquire directly
  • Emailing purchased, rented, or scraped contact lists
  • Re-engagement campaigns to lists that have not interacted with you in more than 12 months

Deceptive and malicious content

  • Phishing — emails designed to trick recipients into revealing credentials or data
  • Spoofing legitimate brands, services, or government agencies
  • Malware distribution or links to malicious software
  • Deceptive subject lines or sender names that misrepresent the origin or content of the email

Financial scams and prohibited promotions

  • Cryptocurrency investment schemes, pump-and-dump promotions, or rug-pull operations
  • Get-rich-quick offers, pyramid schemes, or multi-level marketing recruitment
  • Payday loan solicitations targeted at vulnerable populations
  • Counterfeit goods or services

Other prohibited content

  • Content that violates any applicable law, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL, and similar regulations
  • Content that harasses, threatens, or discriminates against individuals or groups
  • Any content that violates Amazon Web Services' Acceptable Use Policy, whose infrastructure Transend operates on

3. Enforcement

We monitor sending patterns for signals of abuse — unusually high bounce rates, complaint rates above Amazon SES thresholds, sudden volume spikes, and mismatched sending domains. When we identify a potential violation:

  • For borderline cases, we rate-limit your account and contact you directly before taking further action.
  • For clear violations (phishing, purchased lists, scams), we suspend the account immediately and do not restore access.
  • We cooperate fully with law enforcement requests and report credible threats to the appropriate authorities.

4. Your responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that everyone who uses your Transend API key — including contractors, employees, and downstream applications — complies with this policy. If your account is suspended due to a violation, we do not issue refunds for any prepaid service.
